1817 - Posey County receive land from Gibson County.

1818 - Vanderburgh County formed from portions of Posey County, Gibson County and Warrick County.

1822 - Gibson County received land from Posey County.

1823 - Posey County received land from Gibson County, creating Posey County's present day boundries.
