-
Name TALIAFERRO, Francis [1, 2, 3, 4] Suffix Sr. Birth Abt 1661 Gloucester County, Colony of Virginia, England
[1] Gender Male Land 28 Sep 1682 Rappahannock County (Old), Colony of Virginia, England
[2, 5, 6] inherited by Francis from his father as the eldest son, 3150 acres, being half of the 6300 acres his father and Lawrence SMITH jointly patented in 1666. Francis then divided some of this land between three of his four brothers - Francis gave "in consideration of the mutual love and affection which I bear unto my dear brothers", 1000 acres on Snow Creek to John and 1600 acres to Richard and Charles. If either Richard or Charles were to die before they reached 21, then the entire 1600 acres would go to the survivor. Also, when Richard, older than Charles, became 21, he would have the right of first division. Presumably, Francis' brother Robert was not included in the gifts because their mother had given Robert 600 acres in 1672.
Death 1710 Essex County, Colony of Virginia, UK
[1, 2, 4] Will Probated 10 Oct 1710 Essex County, Colony of Virginia, UK
[7] - His estate was valued at £374-7-2, and his widow, Elizabeth, posted bond as administratrix.
