    • On that date he resided in York County, witnessing the Will of Robert MEEK (or WEEKS) - York County Will Book, 1647. This is the first documentation of him being in Virginia. Some stories, without naming a source, say that he sailed to Virginia on the ship Honor, leaving from the Stepney docks on the Thames River a few days before his father's death on 19 August 1647. So far this record has not been located.
